The commissioners of public instruction are hereby authorized and directed to create a bureau of child nutrition, which bureau shall be under the control of tha said commissioners, and shall consist of a head nutrition worker and five assistants, all of whom shall be trained and experienced nutrition workers. The head of said bureau shall be known as th superintendent of the bureau of child nutrition, and he shall be in the immediate chargo and control of said bureau and of his assistants, subject to such rules and regulations as the commission or of public instruction shall make from time to time. The superintendent and assistants shall be appointed (r employed by the commissioners, ajnd shall receive such compensation as the commissioners shall prescribe. Section 2.

The superintendent of said bureau shall furnish to the commissioners such reports and at such times as the commissioners shall require, and the commissioners shall annually submit to the governor reports covering the periods between the first, day of January and the thirty-first day of December in each year. Such reports shall be submitted by the governor to each session of the legislature. S-aid reports shall contain itemized statements of all expended by the commissioners or by said brreau for or in connection with the work of the bureau and from any appropriation made for the purpose of said bureau: of all monevs received bv said bureau; the persons to whom any of snid moneys have been paid, and the purpose for which the same shall have been paid during the period covered by the report. Such reports shall contain such further information relative to the transactions of the bureau, as shall enable the governor to be fully advised relative to all the transactions of or concerning said bureau.
