HATCHER The first of April may be April Foot's Day in most other place, but in Honolulu it will be celebrated by navy men -as the start of the nu-dern exodus. From nhacks and up to dale apart merit, from houses all over the city will stream during the first days of April and every month, thereafter a steadily mounting flow of service families into the new housing units Prepared for them at Pearl Harbor, ong hoped for. almost despaired of. and discussed with cynical disbelief, the project has at last taken concrete form and the proof will be by indisputable occupancy. While a lot of men are going to acquire new homes for less money, many of us in the sea-going category will still need homes in Honolulu.

Hawaii, March 31. A large number of Hamakua residents, including those from Hono-hina to Kukuihaele, met at the Honokaa courthouse grounds to participate in the sendoff rally held in honor of the Hamakua selectees at 8 a. m. Sunday. The rally was sponsored jointly by the Hamakua American Japanese Citizen's association, Hamakua Young People's association, and the Hamakua Japanese Educators' association.

Parents and friends of the selectees of Japanese ancestry proudly carried American flags, while other banners extended felicitations to the selectees in both Japanese and English. The rally opened with a selection by the Hamakua band, led by Al wing. Brie Gen. Jacob H. Rudolph, commanding general of the 18th bombardment wing, Hickam field, will speak on the colorful life of the late Col.
