A LEGAL NOTICES LEGAL NOTICES PUBLIC HEARING OCTOBER 16, 1956 WAIANAE SEWERS SECTION VI IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 119 WAIANAE, OAHU, T. H. TO OWNERS, LESSEES AND OCCUPANTS OF LAND PROPOSED TO BE ASSESSED OR ACQUIRED AND TO ALL OTHERS INTERESTED You are hereby NOTIFIED that the Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing at its Assembly Hall in the Honolulu Municipal Building on October 16, 1956, at 2:00 p.m., upon the Waianae Sewers, Section VI, as shown in Chief Engineer's Report dated September 4, 1956, and approved by Resolution No. 642 of 1956, a copy of said report, including all maps and data, being on file at the office of the Engineer of the Division of Sewers, and open to inspection during business hours, the same being incorporated herein by reference and showing in detail: AREA TO BE ASSESSED: That area as shown in Exhibit I of the Engineer's Report dated September 4, 1956.

METHOD OF ASSESSMENT: Assessments shall be made on an area basis and the owner permitted to pay the same in one (1) payment or in twenty (20) equal annual installments with interest on the deferred payments at the rate of four and one-half per cent per annum. IMPROVEMENTS SHALL CONSIST OF: and 6" pipes, manholes, etc. ESTIMATE OF COST: 1. The estimated cost of the entire improvement including the cost of land, engineering, incidentals, inspection and advertising, is 18,000.00 2. The approximate total assessable area within the entire district subject to assessment, is 160,000 sq.

ft. 3. The assessment rate per square foot of benefited property within the improvement district, is 0.06 4. The estimated cost to be assessed on an area basis at six (6) cents per square foot against all lands within the district, 9,600.00 5. The estimated cost of the improvement to be borne by the City and County of Honolulu, is 8,400.00 (See report for all details and descriptions) PROTESTS: It is required that protesting property owners file notarized written objections to the proposed improvement prior to or at the public hearing.

TO THE OWNERS, LESSEES AND OCCUPANTS OF LAND WITHIN SAID IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT, AND TO ALL PERSONS INTERESTED GENERALLY. (Examine the Assessment Report for this Improvement District for yourself for your property and report any errors in area or total assessment to the Chief Engineer of the Department of Public Works, and it is required that protesting property owners file notarized written objections prior to or at the Public Hearing.) NOTICE is hereby given in accordance with Resolution No. 641 of 1956, that the Board of Supervisors proposes to assess the property within said Improvement District, as provided by the Improvement Statutes and that in conformity with the provisions of Section 6713 of the Revised Laws of Hawaii 1945, notice is hereby given on the following: 1. The description and area of the property subject to assessments, as heretofore established by said Resolution No. 641 of 1956, of said Board, are shown in detail in the Assessment Map and Roll and Detail of Descriptions, both of which are hereby specifically referred to and incorporated herein.

2. The total cost of the entire improvement, including the contract bid, $420,000.00 3. The assessment rate per square foot for the sanitary sewer improvement, to be assessed against all assessable property within the district, is 0.06 Assessments, either the whole or the first annual installment of twenty (20) installments, are payable within thirty (30) days after the last day of the publication of the Assessment Ordinance. Interest on deferred payments will be charged at the rate of four and one-half per cent per annum. 5.

Improvement Sewer Bonds may be authorized as required. 6. The total assessed area within Improvement District No. 116, Nuuanu Valley Sewers, Section I1, is 2,723,036 sq. ft.

7. The total cost of assessment to be borne by private property owners within the district (2,723,036 sq. ft. $0.06 per sq. is.

$163,382.16 8. The total net cost to the City and County, including the contract bid, engineering, inspection, advertising and incidentals, is $256,617.84 (being 61.10% of the entire cost of the improvement) 9. A public hearing will be held before the Board of Supervisors at its Assembly Hall in the Municipal Building, respecting any complaints or objections as to the several I total amounts in the several assessments, on October 9, 1956, at 2:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as those interested may be heard. 10. The Report of the Chief Engineer of the Department of Public Works dated September'18, 1956, including said Assessment Map and Roll and Detail of Descriptions, hereinbefore referred to and incorporated, may be seen and examined at the office of said Engineer in the Municipal Building, City and County of Honolulu, Territory of Hawaii, at any time during business hours, prior to and including the date of hearing.
