However, Quinn said he will review the Board of Regents, as he will all other state boards and commissions, for consideration when the Senate meets next month to confirm appointments.

The Government Reorganization Act of 1959 specifically lists the University and the State Planning Office as two agencies that needn't be reorganized immediately. Yesterday, 5V -yea r-old Riley i Yamamoto died of meningitis at Trip-ler Army Hospital, only three days after he became ill with a high fever and terrible headaches. His mother said the fever made her only son, a healthy kindergartener at Aliamanu Elementary School, delirious. Tuesday, the day after he became sick, Riley was hospitalized. He went into a coma that afternoon and never regained consciousness. Funeral services for the youngster were held today at Honolulu Crematory, followed by burial at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. Dr. A. L. Guerard, Stanford Educator, Dead, Friends Hear Dr. Nils P.

Larsen has re ceived news that Dr. Albert Leon Guerard, for more than half a century one of Stanford University's most distinguished scholars, died in his sleep at his home on the Stanford campus early November 14. Dr. Guerard was emeritus professor of general and comparative literature, a post that has remained unfilled since his retirement in 1946. Born in Paris in 1880, he was educated at the University of Paris and the University of London.

He came to the United States in 1906 and after teaching at Williams College in Massachusetts for a year, joined the Stanford staff as an assistant professor of French in 1907. He wrote 20 books and hundreds of essays and other literary contributions. Dr. Guerard visited Hawaii about three years ago and made many friends here. He was an aggressive exponent of freedom of thought ancj once said, "All ideas are to some extent inevitably subversive." His son, Albert J.

Guerard, is a professor of English at Harvard and a novelist. He also leaves his wife, Wilhelmina, and a daughter. Yasuro Kurita Funeral services for Yasuro Kurita, 73, of 3015-A Harding Avenue, were to begin at 4:30 p.m. today at Hosoi Mortuary, with cremation following at Oahu Crematory. Mr.

Kurita, a painting contractor, died, yesterday at Ku-akini Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Ryuko; two sons, James N. and Harold R. Kurita, and a daughter, Carol M. Kurita.

Joseph F. Hanning Word has ben received here that Joseph F. Hanning, 55, former director of the Office of Civilian Personnel for all U.S. Army installations in Hawaii, died New Year's Day at his home at Briarcliff Manor, New York. He left the Islands in 1957 to head the New York field office for the Deputy Chief of Staff for Personnel in the Department of the Army.

Mr. Hanning, a Yale graduate and former member of the Rotary Club of West Honolulu, is survived by his wife, Mary, and three teenage daughters. Mrs. Valeriano Baruiz A Requiem Mass will be said tomorrow morning at St. Joseph's Catholic Church for Mrs.

Valeriano (Crescen-ciana Kayampot) Baruiz, 55, of 94-270-A Mokuola Drive, Waipahu. Born in Casires, Cebu, Philippine Islands, Mrs. Baruiz died Wednesday at Maluhia Hospital. Friends may call at Pearl City Funeral Home from 6 to 9 tonight, when the Rosary will be recited at 8. The funeral procession will leave there at 10:45 a.m.

Serdfin Palomares The family of Serafin Mar-celo Palomares, who died Saturday at Kaiser Hospital, has made the following changes in funeral arrangements.
