British TV Network Will Warn Viewers Mort Glankoff, the founder and chairman of Cue magazine, the first New York city-regional entertainment and restaurant guide, died Saturday at his home in Manhattan. He was 85 years old. The magazine was called The Neighborhood Theater Guide when it was first published in 1932 in Manhattan by Glankoff and his first wife, Jill. They renamed it Cue in 1934.

Cue, the Weekly Magazine of New York Life, was published continuously for nearly 50 years, providing New York residents and visitors with listings of movies, plays, concerts, restaurants, sports and other leisure activities. Its format was later used by other magazines in other cities. Cue also offered commentaries on fashion, culture, dining and show business. When Cue was sold to New York magazine, which incorporated it within its format, in 1980, it had a circulation of 300,000. At his death, Glankoff was a sales and marketing consultant to New York magazine.

Times Service Dr. Harry Benjamin, an endocrinologist who specialized in transsexualism and geriatric medicine, has died at the age of 101. Benjamin, who retired about 15 years ago, died Sunday at his apartment in New York City. He was widely considered to have been the first student of the phenomenon to which he gave the name transsexualism the belief of some men and women that they are women caught in men's bodies or vice versa. Benjamin, along with like-minded psychiatrists and surgeons, worked out ways to treat transsexuals progressing from psychiatric evaluation to injections of hormones and to sex-change operations if they seemed warranted despite substantial opposition from other doctors.

Benjamin also was interested in the aging process. In a 1975 interview, shortly before his 90th birthday, he observed. "The most important prescription for long life is having had the good fortune to have long parents, and my mother lived to be 98. The second most important prescription "is sensible living and having useful work to do," he said. Benjamin, a banker's son, was born in Berlin, studied at universities in Berlin and elsewhere in Germany and came to the United States in 1913.

He was the author of "The Transsexual Phenomenon." published in 1966, and other books. is survived by his wife Greta, whom he married in 1925, and a sister, Edith Seelig of Lugano, Switzerland.
