The bride is the daughter of James K. Bright of Hilo, and the late Marie E. Bright, parents of the bridegroom are Joseph and Mary Ann Poai of Hilo. Patricia Cann Ferreira was honor attendant. Bridesmaids were Lisa Bright, Nadine Bright, Debra Poai, and Lillian Poai.

Mike Johnson was his brother's best man, and Chris Harlow was groomsman. The bride was graduated from Waiakea High School, and attended Hawai'i Community College. Her husband was graduated from Baxter High School, and is employed by A.G.I. Inc. in An-keny, Iowa, where the couple is living following a honeymoon on the Big Island.
